A (pixellated) patient experiencing the disulfiram-alcohol reaction (DAR).

Plate 1 after half a unit (c 5g) of alcohol. Plate 2 after  he requested a further whole unit because he wasn't sufficiently impressed after the first dose of alcohol.

In Plate 1, note flushing of chest and of abdominal scar from operation for perforated gastric ulcer - probably alcohol-related - but sparing the nipple area.

Plate 2 - note stain on pillow from vomiting. More extensive flushing now includes the nipple area. The patient recovered without treatment in half an hour.
